The Seamstress

Katherine got a children's sewing machine for her birthday.  She has been wanting to learn to sew for several years.  I can't get her lessons until she is eight.  So, today we practiced sewing on the machine.  She repaired a sweater that she tore and was on cloud nine.
I'm thinking early retirement. :)

Tea Party

The girls and I love tea.  I always have a cup of tea everyday after lunch and the girls often join me.  Katherine decided that we needed to have a tea party.  So, I broke out the china cups, the girls put on their favorite dresses and we invited Papa up for tea.

Little Miss Zoe

Zoe has this funny little habit of coming into the kitchen, while I am working, and pulling up a seat to read her little books.  Except, the seats she always pulls up are cookie sheets, or in this case the cooling rack.
Too cute.

The big six!

While we were all trying to survive the flu, my eldest celebrated her sixth birthday.  I felt so bad for her because we were all so sick and she was so excited to be turning six.  She received many gifts from friends and family and so on Monday, January 21st, she and papa sat quietly in the living room and opened each one-alone.  Every time she would open a gift, she would quietly, but excitedly come in my room and show me the gift.  I would lift my aching head off the pillow and try to share in her excitement.  Zoe and Thea didn't even open their eyes.
Finally, after two weeks of postponing her birthday party, we were finally able to celebrate the big day.  We had the party after church school on Sunday and invited all the kids for spaghetti, cake and ice cream.  We then played pin the horn on the unicorn.
It was a fun little party.

Happy birthday my first born!!!

Here's to a healthy 2008!

For the last two weeks we have all been making our way back to good health.  It all started with the flu-which we all shared (nasty business).  Then, we all got secondary stuff:  ear infections, sinus infections, bronchitis.  THEN, I coughed or sneezed and pulled a muscle in my rib cage.  This is incredibly painful.

Lord, be merciful!

I went to my holistic  Dr. today to see if he had a magic pill he could give me (natural, of course) to make it all right again...

Here's to good health!
