Light reading

We are planning our summer vacation and just received some AAA books in the mail. Thea decided that she was going to help plan the trip with us. So she crawled in her 'nest' and started studying.

Serious situation

This looks pretty serious...

Plum good!

Our co-op this time around was full of awesome fruit. Zoe tasted her first plum. I think she liked it. :)

Puppet Show

The girls are giving Zoe her own private puppet show.

Katya lost a tooth

A couple of months ago Papa and his girls were playing. At some point Katya hit her tooth and it's been getting looser every day. Well, yesterday it finally came out. Guess she'll be a snaggle tooth for a couple of years.

Did I say dinner or dinner party?

A few evenings ago I was attempting to prepare dinner. (Those of you who know me will immediately recall that cooking is not my forte'.) Anyhow, I had banished the girls to their room to play while I remembered how to boil water for pasta. A few minutes passed (probably much longer than needed for the experienced cook to make pasta) and the girls came looking for their dinner.

I turned around to face two little girls, a little over dressed for the meal I had prepared.

I better light a candle or something...

Zoe loves hummus!

Of my three children, Zoe has spent the least amount of time eating baby food. When I would try to feed it to her, she would give me a look that said "Have you tried this stuff?" So, I just gave her mashed steamed veggies and that worked fine.

Now, when we eat, she gets this look on her face and a tone in her voice that says "What are you eating and why is it not on my tray?" She's a tough customer. The other night we were having hummus and she started in demanding her share, so I gave her some. She loved it.

When Katya was about this age we went to the Antiochian Festival. I was trying to give her some steamed veggies that I had brought along for her, but she was having none of that. She wanted my plate and all that was on it. There wasn't much I would let her eat, except the hummus.

I'll just say that she was the center of attention for about thirty minutes while she bathed in hummus. It was pretty cute and to this day she loves the stuff.

Zoo trip

On Sunday we were invited to the zoo for a birthday party. So after Church we piled into the van and headed off with the hope that we wouldn't melt. It was hot but we still had a great time. In the children's zoo area there is a stream that they let kids play in. Great idea! I want one in my yard.

Here are a couple of photos. The last one is at the end of the day. Do you think Thea is ready to go home?

Our visit to the Science Place

We recently took a trip to the Science Place. It was a fun day with so much to explore. My favorite was the farm area. It shows how food is grown and gives information about farm animals, etc. The girls had a blast. The tickets also gave us access to the Museum of Natural History, which the girls really liked. Katya especially liked all the animal bones. Here are a few pics.

The girls love to cook with Papa. Whatever he cooks the girls have to taste at every stage of preparation. Recently, Fr. was making scones and when I asked Katya if she was eating the dough she turned to me with the expression you see in this picture. I"m so glad the camera was close at hand. :)

The Doctor is in.

I believe Thea is the first doctor I've met with wings.

Must be something she earned in med. school.
