Best Buds

One of the many reasons I love homeschooling is how close my girls are.  They play together all day long and I never hear that they are bored.  (I'm sure I'm just not there yet).
I love hearing their voices as they sing, giggle and scream.  It truly is music to my ears.

Thank you Lord

A friend recently took this picture.  I thank God for my family.  I am totally undeserving of such a wonderful life!

Memorial Day Picnic

We had our Memorial Day picnic here at our church last Monday.  I love these picnics!  It's a great way for the local area parishes to get together and fellowship and also for our youth to get to know one another (big bonus).  Since it's potluck it only costs our parish the rental of the bounce house.  We do this again at Labor day.

Fr. Justin and I are always amazed that every picnic brings about 100 beautiful faces our way and it's loads of fun.  We seem to always meet new people and get to sit and talk with people we otherwise don't get to visit with.  We rent a bounce house, paint faces, do egg toss, water balloon toss and eat delicious food!  Here are a couple of pics (clearly the face painting is a major hit):

OK, my favorite is of the two little one's in the middle of the egg toss action.   Do they have it figured out or what?  I can just hear them saying "O.K., if we just hand this egg back and forth it won't break-and who's gonna notice us little one's anyway".

My little creative one

So, I had to run into the city the other day for several errands, meaning that I would be gone for several hours.  When I got home I was greeted by my precious little ones and this is what Thea was wearing.  Now, for those of you who don't know how Thea dresses, she can be quite creative.

This afternoon's ensemble was made up of Zoe's pajamas (several pairs layered and a couple of sizes too small) and a special little spring cap.  Otherwise known to us mundane dressers as underwear.

When I saw Thea I said "Wow Thea, what a nice outfit".  She answered nonchalantly "Fanks Mom" and ran off.

Paschal picnic

We have three great picnics a year at our church.  We have picnics on Pascha, following the Agape Vespers with an egg hunt; one on Memorial day and another on Labor day.   They have been a wonderful blessing for our parish.  We have all enjoyed getting together to fellowship and also we always have visitors.

Here are a couple of pics of the girls on Sunday morning (yes, after having been up all night) with their pascha baskets and then hunting eggs.  Why don't they have circles under their eyes like I do?  :)

We ask for your prayers!

Our parish, St. Maximus,  recently made an offer on some property that we have been eyeing for awhile.  The owner just lowered the price and so we made an offer.  There is an offer ahead of us and so we are going to do an Akathist this evening to the Mother of our Lord and pray that God's will be done in this matter and that He be glorified in all things!

Thank you!

Christ is Risen!!!

What a glorious Paschal season we are enjoying!  I pray that you all are basking in the glory of our risen Lord!
